The Sunshine Tomorrow to “Rock” SHHS Class of 66

You got it.  The Sunshine Tomorrow, Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees will entertain the South Hamilton High School Class of 1966 at their 45th Class Reunion on June 25, 2011 at the Jewell Golf & Country Club.  This is the second Class of 66 reunion they have been entertainment.  The last was in 1986.   The Sunshine Tomorrow has played for various class reunions each of the past five years.   Members of the Surfinks band from Jewell have been invited to join The Sunshine Tomorrow to close out the first set on Knock on Wood, Louie Louie, Stormy,

The Sunshine Tomorrow Band Opens New Briggs Woods Golf Course Tiki Bar

The Sunshine Tomorrow band provided entertainment for the Grand Opening of the Briggs Woods Golf Course Tiki Bar on Friday, Jun 25, 2010.  This was an outdoor event attended by an estimated 150 people from all over Hamilton County.   The picnic tables were “rockin”!!  Also, the guests were treated to a thunder and lighting show right behind the band as the storm approached from the north.   The band wrapped all the wires up about 15 minutes prior to a huge deluge of H2O.

Gail and Amy Sing at Dayton Dragons Game

The Kirkmont Mixed Quartet sang the National Anthem at the Dayton Dragons baseball game on May 6th, 2009. The quartet is Gail – bass, Amy – saprano, Pam Yri – alto, and John Jackson – tenor. They tried out at the Dayton Mall March 28, 2009 along with over 400 other try-out contenders, Only 70 selections were made for the Dragon’s home games. The crowd was very responsive to the quartet’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner!

The Sunshine Tomorrow to Rehearse 1 – 3 May 2008

The Sunshine Tomorrow members will take on Decatur, Il from 1 – 3 May 08. The weekend will culminate with a “Back to the 60’s” e-invitation only party at the Loren Luppes residence on Sat evening. The event will feature over 20 of The Sunshine Tomorrow’s renditions of those great songs from early rock’n roll through 1971. Brian V has had his 1966 Hofner Beatle bass re-strung and adjusted for that driving and powerful bass and rhythm. Loren has added a new red Nord keyboard to his already impressive arsenal to even more accurately capture those B3 and brass sounds.

Gail Visits Parents in Jewell, Iowa

Gail visited Kenneth and Lorraine from 22 – 27 Feb 2006. Both were in pretty good health. Highlight of the trip was making headcheese. Gail and Lorraine made two cake pans full and the flavor was absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately the eyeballs remained in the pig head and Gail had to remove prior to cooking.

Ron Vaubel

Ronald Vaubel Des Moines Funeral services for Ronald K. Vaubel will be 11 a.m. Friday at the West Des Moines Christian Church. Ronald served in the US Army Air Corps and owned a contracting company. Survivors include two brothers, Loren of Ft. Dodge and Kenneth of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella.
